Alize Kid Royal 50 is a light from Alize, made in Turkey. Composition: 50% baby alpaca / 50% royal alpaca. One skein holds 175 m of yarn and weighs 50 g.
How the yarn behaves
Fluffy plied yarn built from kid mohair and a stabilising nylon core, so it has a strong silk-like halo without being fragile. Sits in the lace-weight range, but the halo works across a very wide gauge — single-strand for true lace, held with another yarn for lightly haloed sweaters and shawls. Catches the light gently. Hand wash cool and dry flat; mohair-family fibres mat easily under agitation. Steam carefully if the halo needs reviving after wear.
