What is Alumco?
Araucania Alumco is a light from Araucania. Composition: 70% wool / 20% cotton / 10% bamboo. One skein holds 200 m of yarn and weighs 100 g.
How the yarn behaves
Aran-weight viscose-and-cotton blend — lots of drape from the viscose, body from the cotton, and a smooth, shiny surface. Hand-dyed in tonal and variegated colourways. Stitch definition is decent but softened by the viscose; texture and lace read clearly. Strong fit for summer-weight shawls, drapey tops and decorative crochet. Currently a discontinued line.
