What is Air?
Drops Design Air is a light from Drops Design. Composition: 70% baby alpaca / 30% merino wool. One skein holds 200 m of yarn and weighs 25 g.
How the yarn behaves
DROPS Air is a distinctive aran-weight blow yarn made from a blend of baby alpaca, polyamide and merino wool. Rather than being traditionally spun, the fibres are blown into a fine tubular structure, producing fabric that is markedly lighter than conventionally spun yarns of the same thickness. The result is exceptionally airy and lofty with a soft, itch-free hand that suits sensitive skin, while still offering warmth and a gentle halo. It is well suited to sweaters, cardigans, hats and accessories with relaxed drape and good texture and cable definition; it crochets too, though knitting is far more common. Care: hand wash cool with wool detergent and dry flat to preserve the loft and shape.
