How the yarn behaves
DROPS Alaska is a classic aran/worsted weight yarn spun from untreated new wool, where the fibres are only washed before dyeing and are not chemically processed. The triple-stranded construction produces an even, slightly rustic stitch with very good shape stability, body and elasticity, and the carded heathered shades give it a soft natural depth of colour. It is a workhorse choice for warm sweaters, cardigans, hats, mittens, blankets and traditional Nordic colourwork, and it also crochets well for sturdy textured fabrics. It is suited to felting too. Oeko-Tex Class I certified, so safe for baby items. Care: hand wash cool in wool detergent and dry flat.
