How the yarn behaves
DROPS Alpaca is a classic three-stranded yarn made from superfine alpaca, spun with an extra twist to give a durable surface while keeping the characteristic alpaca softness and subtle natural sheen. Garments are lightweight, warm and drapey, and because alpaca contains no lanolin and isn't prickly, the yarn is hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. It is excellent for shawls, lace, colourwork, light sweaters, cardigans and accessories, and it also crochets well for delicate fabrics. Alpaca has limited elasticity compared with sheep's wool, so swatching is recommended and structured garments benefit from a slightly tighter tension. Care: hand wash cool in wool detergent and dry flat to keep shape.
