How the yarn behaves
DROPS BabyAlpaca Silk is a luxurious yarn spun from three strands in a blend of baby alpaca and mulberry silk, with untreated fibres for a natural surface. The alpaca brings softness and warmth, while the silk adds strength, fluidity and a discreet shine; the resulting fabric is light, drapey and exceptionally smooth against the skin. It gives an even, gently lustrous fabric ideal for shawls, lace, lightweight sweaters and elegant accessories, and it crochets beautifully for delicate stitchwork. Because alpaca has limited memory the fabric drapes rather than holds shape, so tighter tension suits structured garments. Care: hand wash cool with mild wool detergent, do not wring, and dry flat.
