What is Kid-Silk?
Drops Design Kid-Silk is a lace from Drops Design. Composition: 35% kid mohair / 25% mohair / 40% silk. One skein holds 200 m of yarn and weighs 25 g.
How the yarn behaves
DROPS Kid-Silk is a fine brushed yarn blending super kid mohair with mulberry silk. The kid mohair provides a soft, fluffy halo and remarkable warmth for the weight, while the silk adds tensile strength, a hint of shine and improved drape. The yarn is typically worked for delicate solo fabrics or held together with a fingering yarn for soft, lightly haloed garments. It is wonderful for airy shawls, wraps, feminine tops and shoulder warmers; it crochets too, though the halo softens stitch definition. Oeko-Tex certified. Care: hand wash cool with wool detergent and dry flat to keep the halo intact and prevent matting.
