What is Wool of the Andes?

Knit Picks Wool of the Andes is a medium from Knit Picks. Composition: 100% Peruvian highland wool. One skein holds 200 m of yarn and weighs 100 g.

How the yarn behaves

Heritage-style worsted wool — sturdy, bouncy, with excellent stitch definition. Slightly rustic on the needles but softens with each wash. The structural balance of fibre and loft makes it a default for cables, colourwork and everyday sweaters. Superwash and tweed variants are also in the family if washability or speckle matters. Hand wash and dry flat for the non-superwash version. Note that recent batches have run slightly lighter than older ones.
