What is Lace?
Malabrigo Lace is a lace from Malabrigo. Composition: 100% baby merino wool. One skein holds 470 m of yarn and weighs 50 g.
How the yarn behaves
Malabrigo Lace is a single-ply laceweight yarn made from baby merino wool, spun from fibres bred for generations by ranchers in northern Uruguay. The single-ply structure gives it extraordinary softness, squish and a slight halo that develops after blocking. It is ideal for lace shawls, stoles, light scarves and delicate accessories that bloom dramatically when wet-blocked, and it can be held double for fingering-weight projects and colourwork. As a single ply it can pull apart if tugged too hard, so giving the strand a slight twist as you work helps. Care: hand wash cool with mild wool detergent, do not wring, and block flat to bring out lace patterns.
