Malabrigo Mohair
Luxurious 100% kid mohair lace weight with an ethereal halo. Beautiful alone or held with another yarn to add warmth and texture.
What is Mohair?
Malabrigo Mohair is a lace from Malabrigo. Composition: 100% kid mohair. One skein holds 210 m of yarn and weighs 25 g.
How the yarn behaves
Malabrigo Mohair is a single-ply laceweight blend of mohair and silk, with the mohair sourced from a biodiversity-friendly, ethically managed mill in South Africa. The kid mohair contributes a soft, airy halo and great warmth for the weight, while the silk adds tensile strength, a quiet sheen and improves drape. It is ideal for ethereal lace shawls and scarves, and works wonderfully when held double with another yarn (such as a fingering merino) to add softness, halo and depth of colour. It can also be crocheted, though the halo softens stitch definition. Care: hand wash cool with mild detergent and dry flat to preserve the halo and avoid matting the fibres.
