What is Silky Merino?
Malabrigo Silky Merino is a light from Malabrigo. Composition: 50% merino wool / 50% silk. One skein holds 137 m of yarn and weighs 50 g.
How the yarn behaves
Malabrigo Silky Merino is a single-ply yarn made from mulberry silk and merino wool. The silk content gives the yarn weighted drape, a soft natural lustre and a very smooth surface, while the merino keeps it light, warm and comfortable. The fabric is itch-free even on sensitive skin and drapes beautifully, making it well suited to shawls, scarves, wraps, lightweight tops and elegant cardigans; it crochets cleanly into soft, slightly shiny fabric. As a single ply, give it a small twist as you work to prevent splitting. Care: hand wash cool, do not wring, and dry flat to preserve the lustre and softness.
