What is Sock?
Malabrigo Sock is a super fine from Malabrigo. Composition: 100% superwash merino wool. One skein holds 366 m of yarn and weighs 100 g.
How the yarn behaves
Malabrigo Sock is a plied light-fingering yarn made from superwash merino wool, kettle-dyed in small batches for richly varied colourways from semi-solids to wild multi-colour combinations. It is exceptionally soft for a sock yarn, with smooth plies that give crisp stitch definition for lace, cables and texture. Although named for socks, its softness makes it equally beloved for shawls, scarves, lightweight tops, baby garments and accessories; it crochets cleanly too. The lack of nylon means it is plusher than typical sock yarns but slightly less hard wearing on heels and toes, so reinforcing those areas can extend life. Care: machine wash on a gentle cycle and dry flat. Alternate skeins to even out hand-dyed colour.
