What is Ultimate Sock?
Malabrigo Ultimate Sock is a super fine from Malabrigo. Composition: 75% superwash merino wool / 25% polyamide. One skein holds 400 m of yarn and weighs 100 g.
How the yarn behaves
Malabrigo Ultimate Sock is a plied fingering yarn made from superwash merino wool blended with nylon. The nylon reinforcement makes it considerably more hard wearing than pure-merino sock yarns, while the superwash merino keeps it soft, elastic and machine washable. It suits socks, shawls, scarves, hats, baby garments and accessories, with good stitch definition for ribbing, cables and lace. It crochets cleanly as well. The nylon also makes it more pill resistant than the brand's non-nylon Sock base, so it is a natural pick for high-wear items. Care: machine wash on a gentle cycle and dry flat. Alternate skeins to even out the kettle-dyed colour variation across the project.
