Rowan Fine Lace
Fine lace-weight wool and kid mohair. Creates beautifully light shawls and delicate accessories with a subtle halo.
What is Fine Lace?
Rowan Fine Lace is a lace from Rowan. Composition: 80% wool / 20% kid mohair. One skein holds 400 m of yarn and weighs 50 g.
How the yarn behaves
Cobweb-fine blend of baby Suri alpaca with a touch of merino. Smoother and silkier than mohair-based lace yarns — no real halo, but a soft natural sheen and excellent stitch and yarnover definition once blocked. Suri alpaca content gives lots of drape and almost no memory, so works best for shawls, stoles and wraps where flow matters more than structure. Holds wet-blocking sharply, revealing intricate lace patterns. Held double it makes a soft fingering. Hand wash cool, block flat with pins for best results.
