Rowan Tweed Haze
Soft mohair-silk sport weight with a tweedy character and gentle halo. Great for lightweight layering garments and shawls.
What is Tweed Haze?
Rowan Tweed Haze is a fine from Rowan. Composition: 70% mohair / 30% silk. One skein holds 200 m of yarn and weighs 25 g.
How the yarn behaves
Brushed chainette with alpaca, mohair and a little cotton/polyamide for structure. The chainette tube traps air, so fabric is warm but very light; the brushed fibres form a soft halo with tweedy flecks of contrasting colour scattered through it. Stitch definition is gentle — texture work reads, but cables sit under the halo rather than standing out. Drape is fluid, especially in larger pieces. Hand wash and dry flat; a careful brush wakes the halo back up if it flattens after wear.
